I can assure you that southern biscuits with gravy will fulfill your morning appetite so that you will not need any snack until lunchtime.
You can vary this gravy by changing ingredients: bacon gravy by swapping bacon with sausage. You don't actually need any kind of meaty ingredients. You can simply use butter to make roux which is a base thickener of gravy or sauce.

However, you can use both milk and broth to have a more tanned colour instead of pale gravy.
It's really easy to make sausage gravy.
It will not take more than 7-10 minutes in total.
Here goes my sausage gravy recipe:
Ingredients
2/3 pound mild sausage
(if you are not using bulk sauasge, you can remove casing before you crumble it)
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup liquid (of milk and/or beef broth) in total
pepper
* You don't need salt as sausage and broth are well seasoned already.
Directions
1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Add the sausage, break it up with a wooden spoon, and cook.
3. Whisk the flour into the fat and cook, stirring, for about 1 minute.
4. Pour the milk and/or beef broth into the skillet and bring it to boil.
5. Lower the heat and simmer gently for 2 minutes.
6. Season with pepper.
7. Top each biscuit with some of the gravy and serve immediately.
I microwave biscuits for 20 seconds before topping them with gravy.
Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do! :)
